VETERANS: SHOW YOUR STRIPES

OVERVIEW

Prostate cancer is an important medical issue facing many of America’s military veterans. Janssen Biotech, Inc. emphasizes the importance of open dialogue about advanced prostate cancer among veterans, their families, friends and healthcare providers.

America’s veterans have served our country with strength, perseverance and unity. But when it comes to creating awareness and providing support for prostate cancer patients, they are an often over-looked, at-risk group.

  • Nearly three quarters of U.S. veterans are over the age of 65 or approaching it.
  • Most cases of prostate cancer – nearly two-thirds of them – occur in men over 65 years of age.
  • Some research suggests that exposure to Agent Orange may be an additional risk factor for prostate cancer among Vietnam War veterans.

This printable resource guide provides more information specific to veterans about prostate cancer and some resources that are available to them.
